I might look into it myself at a later date.

As I'm sure Dale will tell you shortly, the .pos file contains lots of important stuff, like passwords, which is why the format is not publicly known.

That out of the way... Why do you need the .pos file format. Is there some setting in particular that you need?

Researching... The real answer is that aprint needs an update, and I'm working 60+ hours a week at the moment. While I have plenty of time at my job to think about what I would like to do, I have precious little time to actually do it. This one gets priority now, because we've had issues with it in ...

Dale, Posman, Andrew... any other QB'ers, take a look

An interesting development on the qbasicnews forum, which I have been following for the past few weeks: http://forum.qbasicnews.com/viewforum.php?f=20 It's an in progress QB compatible language, with intentions of functioning on multiple platforms. It already works on DOS and windows with a single s...

Anthony, I have a DOS driver that works with most cuecats, if your not under windows. Also works on NT/2K/XP where the catnip software will not.

Kian: At the moment, only Logic Controls displays are supported, and they require that the lines be sent in reverse order, which is the cause of your bug. I have been working on a more general purpose version that will work with other displays, and as soon as I make some progress there I'll let it b...

What exactly would you like the program to be able to read? Items as they are added to an order, totals, and the like?

Let me know. If your running under windows it might well be possible (dale, another possible application of the pole.dat file)

Would attaching files to a post be a useful forum feature? I think I can add this in, but I have some concerns about both security and space, as the home-nets server only has 50MB for our usage.

Obviously it's because I don't have time to get on here at the moment and everyone feels it's not worth posting unless I am around :) Ok, seriously... where is everyone! Lets get some movement, ehhh? While I'm thinking about it... What add-ons would you like to see for POS. I find myself having alot...

Right on target :) It does not matter what file system you use, under NT/2k/XP DOS is not really DOS. There are some minor stipulations...
You can't boot off a DOS floppy and read NTFS, so if your system dies you'll have a problem.

I find it increasingly disturbing the number of updates and patches required to keep a Windows PC operational. I do computer work for a number of local clients, including some home users, and it's distressing how out of date most of them are as far as updates. Of course, the situation is made much w...
