home-made stock numbers
I went through 15 years of trying to invent or buy or steal a logical stock numbering system/scheme that would sort stuff just the way i want it sorted. All I could ever come up with would take long-handled stock numbers that I figured would sooner or later interfere with or conflict with somebody e...

Editing Customer Information
Dear DHPOS Community, When I edit a customer's mailing address or phone number on the fly during a sale, I lose their previous sales history. When I edit their phone fields & such from within POSCONFG, their old sales history is maintained Ok. It's qwik and simple to key in a new cel phone number fo...

The PIN Number Entry Method
After you turn on the employee switch
and the PIN switch and assign yourself
to a slot in the employee register
with the POS CONFIG program, go back to
the main menu and run option 9.

giving up
If your occupation is repair work,
then I do not believe that you will give up.
Because I believe that you have learned
over and over and over that you can do
what you thought was impossible.

all caps
Yesterday Monday 10-11-2004 I ran DHPOS617 for the first time. I was very favorably impressed. I said to myself- Dynamite! To move my 13-field stock tables to 6.17, just insert a new 'sale price' field with a database program and read it back into the clipboard into 6.17? In 6.17, is there a switch ...

user goof entering count slips
I found my mistake that I was making. I had initially started numbering my count slips at 100. For items in 'building 100'. Then when I went outside and started numbering those slips with '1' for those areas out in the sales yard, it started working until it would encounter slips that I had intentio...

Yes it's all in the same place.
C:\POS428
All of the related files we are discussing are together.
My backups might be elsewhere but the functional files are
all in the same directory\subdirectory.

The Program is Perfect but I am Not
Dale, I know and you know that 4.28 is cast iron. It's not the system that I wonder about, it's my blank spaces that I wonder about. In reference to the average joe computer user like me: It's a poor workman who blames his tools. I know and you know that 4.28 will work perfectly once the user (me) u...

1st Attempt
Thanks. I went ahead and made a dry run this evening. First used the built-in 'backup stock table' utility to the hard disk. then exported stocktable data to a diskette. then did that again to another diskette. then ran 'read inventory file' even though I'm not finished collecting data into my cha.i...
