Re: prevent vDos freeze
Hi Johann, ... Thanks for the prodding - I know it was in your first reply. Log Great news biglog! No problem at all, i'm glad we got the issue sorted out Would a 64 bit version of the "Receive" program be helpful? You would not be able to launch it from the POSCONFG.EXE program, you would have to ...

Re: prevent vDos freeze
Biglog, Recreating your steps as described above, i experience the following: I can start the receive program but i indeed get a huge CPU usage spike from almost 0,6%-1,5% to 58% Indeed results in a 'short freeze' (or delay) during the final notice prior to the receive menu (the "You must remember t...

Re: prevent vDos freeze
Hey biglog, First of all, i don't mind spending some time on it at all, also i feel kind of involved when it comes to issues with POS in emulators so i actually like investigating and possibly solving such issues. It's still not completely clear to me what you are trying to do but i've tried the fol...

Re: prevent vDos freeze
I don't use the receive program, but just messing around in it doesn't get me any issues in DOSbox or vDOS I'm willing to test some stuff and try and find a solution Can you tell me specifically how you get this freeze (so i can recreate the problem for testing) Also some info about your setup might...

Multiple Registers on network in DOSbox / vDOS
Since Dale asked me to test this i have setup two DHPOS-registers in DOSbox and vDos that are connected over a network and found absolutely no issues or difficulties doing so. Dale told me that people experienced trouble setting up networked registers this way in DOSbox and while that MIGHT have bee...

Re: Read this if you encounter problems with DHPOS in DOSBOX
Dale, if im correct you are referring to a setup as described on your site: http://keyhut.com/postip3.htm#network As far as i can tell i can hardly see any reason why such a setup currently would not work in DOSbox or vDOS. I did some research and indeed DOSbox seemed to have some issues with networ...

Re: Saving reports with DOSBox
Actually this is most likely not a problem nor is it a bug but rather a feature of DOSBox (and/or other emulators) combined with incorrect usage by the user: When trying to perform any write actions (e.g. saving a file) in the emulator you must first be sure that the location (path) is accessible to...

Read this if you encounter problems with DHPOS in DOSBOX
Are you using DHPOS in DOSBOX and are you experiencing weird issues? Well as it turns out at least some of these possible issues aren't related to DHPOS but to DOSBOX and/or your specific DOSBOX configuration. I myself experienced some difficulties that i could solve with DOSBOX configuration and so...

Hey Dale,
Not only a photo but now even a short video on youtube, made for the Android barcode scanner thread but also showing the second display in action:

How to use a Android device as Wireless Barcode Scanner
As a followup on my post about Using an Android device as Pole Display , here's a post about How to use an Android device as your Wireless Barcode scanner for DHPOS: Wireless Android Barcode Scanner for DHPOS (or "why i ditched DOSBox as running platform for DHPOS" ) Why again Android?
