Philip,
When you close the register it will ask you if you wish to reset the merchandise data. This will clear all information about what you have sold including "by category."

Clean
Chris, Actually if return voids were allowed you would want them to be "clean." You would not want to void a return and something was not removed from inventory that was put back in by the return. You would want the money added back into the "credit returns" column by the return to be taken back out...

Everything is very important if it is free.
Well there is a problem on taking a poll on how important a new feature would be on the POS program. On most things everyone has to do a cost / benefit analysis. "I really want a sandwich, but I don't want to go into the kitchen and make one", you might say to yourself. Your significant other watche...

I don't want my CC info in no stinking cash register.
Chris, I have purposely not included asking for credit card information in the POS program. CC information should be kept in as few places as possible. We don't want little, unknown hands to be using the POS program to access our customer's CC info, do we? For the same reason we don't want to print ...

Payphone, POS will not create an Excel formatted file. However it will create a comma delimited text file that can be loaded into Excel or any other spreadsheet or database program. What you do is create the comma delimited text file. Open Excel and click to open a new file. At the bottom of the win...

Guest & Chris, The question is not will a CueCat work with POS, I use one here so I know that it works with Windows '98 and most versions of Windows and POS. The question asked is,"Will a modified CueCat work with POS on a computer running --> WINDOWS XP <--" The answer for an unmodified CueCat is "...

Programmable keyboards
kw2303, You can program keys on a programmable keyboard to be any key you want them to be or even several keys. For example if you have a stock item with a stock number of 25562554, if you program one of the keys to be "25562554" + [ENTER] then when the program asks you for a stock number you can en...

Versions
Good idea. POS 5.0 will have the exact same features as version 4.28 except that 5.0 will work on a network. So if you do not need network compatability then 4.28 will be identical to 5.0 except that 4.28 will have less bugs since I have not made any changes to 4.28 while I have made tons of changes...

What?
Chris, If you do not have a scanner or barcodes then I don't see what the problem would be. Unless you can type at superhuman speeds the program will just assume that every stock number in a sale was typed in on the keyboard, as it must have been since you don't have a scanner. Actually what you did...

Chris, Well, a couple of reasons. 1. I cannot see any reasons why you would want to (or would be allowed to) void opening, closing, or "no sales" transactions. Also voiding an already voided sales transaction is just too weird for me to comprehend as is voiding the actual void. See, it is even confu...
