State of the Forum.

Well, I see there have been a few changes to the forum. The one odd thing I notice is that the Annoncements and Stickys seem to stay at the top of the list, no matter how old they are. I kinda miss the old days when the threads with the newest posts were on top, no matter what. I tried looking for a...

Dale,

That has also crossed my mind, but not just for clearing the store out...would also work to get the next day off, get a transfer that you've been after, get them to finally fix that printer that's broken, I mean the list is endless. Hey, want some new floor tile?

This has been brought up randomly, however....other than the few vague requests from persons not of this forum, no real demand has been felt for such an application. Even if there was, the software regarding airports is fairly standardized. Travel Agents and Airlines have spent years developing this...

Well, funny you should suggest this. At the grocery chain that I work <which shall remain nameless> we're typically open 24 hours a day, so the "close" is typically nothing more than an accounting formality at midnight. However, on the rare occasion that we were actually locking the doors <Like say....

Actually....

It's not a half bad idea... I don't know about the resetting the amount that's supposed to be in the drawer, but having a record on the journal of a countdown would be usefull. We used to use a method much like this at a non-profit store I voulenteered<sp?> at . Between cashiers we would count the d...

Wow...bit ungreatful.....

Wow Dave, you alright? Dale, That's cool, was just a thought...but I see your point. Plus, what if you ever had assoiciates work 3rd shift? Clock in one day, out the next. Or split shifts.....but by leaving the in/out headers alone, that wouldn't be an issue. I'm sure it wouldn't take much for this ...

There was once a script that would turn a second moniter into a customer display....and worked farily well. However if memory serves, it fell out of popularity, and fell behind the desk. I'm sure the link is still somewhere in the forum, but I wish you the best of luck to find it....and that the fil...

Jason,

Have you tried contacting the vendor directly, say through a tech-support 800 number...and see if they can offer any advice? If anyone would know how to help you with getting the cutter bar to work, it'd be them.

Actually, that sounds alot complicated, but very crafty and effective.

Good job Robert! I like the way you think.

Not exactly something I think we'd all be able to roll out, but if it suits your needs, more power to you!

Hmm....well, almost....

Dale, That sounded like a really good idea....but....if you refund something, you're given one of two options (1) if the item is of good condition, you can have the program ADD it back to the on-hand inventory. or (2) if the item is not of good conditon, you can elect the program to not add it back ...

You go Andrew! Tell 'em! After all it is FREE software, if you want the old files posted so badly, why not donate a new server to the cause? I'm sure Jon wouldn't argue with that.

Invoices

Hey Dale! Got a question. I know we have the receiving program for use when we recieve items into our inventory...but I've yet to figure out an easy way to account for credit invoices. In other words, the reverse of receiving. For those of us who may not be familiar with my wording, it's when you re...
