Barry,

If you are ringing up continuous voids - isn't that a bit odd?

No, it's not currently possible - there is already a thread discussing this topic under "several questions / requests". Basically versions of windows from 98 onwards make it incredibly difficult for DOS to access the serial port on which most pole displays function. We are trying to find a work arou...

Sorry, it's only available in QBasic - this is what POS and Payroll are written in.

If you port it to Visual Basic, it would be great if you posted a copy so it can be loaded into the KnowledgeBase.

Welcome to the world of program development.

I'm sorry this forum's topic centres around a different Point of Sale system (http://pages.prodigy.net/daleharris/pos.htm).

You would need to contact Quickbooks or refer to their help files to see if their system can pop open a drawer and how to do so.

Pole Display Gylemuir's pole display is simply showing a static message set by another program. POS has no control over this, and it is unlikely it ever will due to the massive number of models out there, all requiring different codes and sequences and the simple fact that we don't have a display t...

I got into Voids without an employee PIN?

Hey Dale

While verifying a bug posted earlier, I went into voids by mistake - I was not asked for an employee PIN? Every other menu option asks me for a PIN except Voids.

I tried again and it still let me in - bug?

OK...

- how many items were in the sale?
- what was the total of the sale before applying the percentage?
- how much was the percentage reduction?

I just tried a 50% reduction on a line 2 item and it went through fine. (Using latest version downloaded from Dale's site).

Sorry, this software is written in QBasic - which is strictly DOS. I have heard of some people being able to run POS using an emulator or such in Linux, but this is more Jonathan Simpson's field and he may reply with more information. There have also been requests to make a windows version, but seei...

You can't actually remove the product number from the receipt.

You can rename the headings though, using the Receipt Language option in the POSCONFG program.

Do you mean you actually were able to ring up two sales at the same time, share the same stock table etc? Remember - just ringing a sale on one machine, then moving to the second machine and ringing another sale *isn't* really an accurate test of networking POS. You need to have at least two sales b...
