I like where this is going- although I need time to think about it, and perhaps discuss it in chat some time :-)

I agree Payroll information might be useful for sharing or even receiving from head office.

The pole display is not supported by DHPOS. The one in the photo displays a static message set by the driver/program for that particular pole display. Dale - perhaps you could append a note to the photo to state that the pole display in the picture is not controlled by DHPOS? Seeing as we get a lot ...

Customer Displays No, sorry not at this point - too many factors to take into account and Dale has no display to do the testing. Keyboard Wedge Scanner (KWS) A KWS is a scaner that "shares" the same plug as a standard PS/2 keyboard. Usually the scanner will come with a Y plug which plugs in to the ...

Hi First of all - although DHPOS will normall run on Windows XP without trouble - Windows ME and XP do not contain "real DOS" which is what POS is made for. Instead these OS's "emulate" or "simulate" DOS sometimes with unpredictable results. In summary - in a business situation, it may be prudent to...

Of course bug reports still need to be filed - there's a high chance that a bug in 4.28 would exist in 5.

Send them on in, unless you already see the bug has been squashed in the 5.x series reports.

DJ, POSnet is already available as a BETA - you create a folder on any computer as long as you can share it - then on each terminal that needs to access it you need to map to the shared folder (this means assigning a drive letter to the share folder path e.g. Z:) More detailed instructions are in th...

Angelo, right click the SERIAL1.BAT file - then click Edit

It should open in Notepad, remove everything that is in there and simply put:

cdk.exe

on the first line, save and close - now try POS, don't forget to set the cash drawer to COM1 in POSCONFG.

Dale, Cool thoughts - at work we have a button entitled "Short Group" this then brings up a menu of some departments e.g. Bulk Foods, Fruit, Vegetables, Bakery, Fish etc... We then select one department and a list of items appear (not all items for that department of course, as this would take forev...

DHPOS doesn't store cost prices - so you would have to work it out from one of the merchandise reports which can be saved to disk and opened in Excel. If you want sales by day - when you close the register daily, you need to reset merchandise data at the end of each day. If weekly, reset it once a w...

Something that made me laugh at work today...

Here's an off topic post about something that made me laugh today while working at the supermarket (not using DHPOS I'm afraid) :D A customer was purchasing a pineapple, these normally have a tag with a barcode and although we can bring up a "Short List" for certain departments e.g. "Fruit" we had b...
