Re: Pole display using a monitor - New

Bruce, I got the following from Bill... I originally unzipped the BIGPOLEQ5 file in the same folder as the POS program. That was a mistake as it slowed the computer to an absolute crawl. When I removed the files and put them in a separate folder with the path to the POS program, the computer resumed...

Re: New RECEIVE.EXE feature.

Bruce,

I have fixed the [ESC] thing.

I have added a warning if you choose to press [ESC] when adding data.

I still have not figured out what I want to do about scanning over a previously entered stock number.

Version 7.1Jx3 is at http://keyhut.com/receive.exe

Re: recommended pole display for dhpos

Only the Logic Control brand of pole displays that plug into the serial port on your computer (but not the "by-pass" type) have been tested to work with DHPOS. This will require that your computer has a serial port, that you run the POLE.EXE program that comes with DHPOS, that you have a place to pl...

Re: Pole display using a monitor - New

Dale saves Bruce some more key presses. New version of bigpole is up. You are no longer asked for the PATH when you select the screen mode. Setting the PATH is an option from the menu The program now tests that the PATH actually exists when you enter it. And on the "set colors" screen the white line...

Re: What is the best operating system for running DHPOS

Hamleysman, If you use Windows '98 then it is east to get the program to run full screen but you cannot use a secont USB monitor as a pole display. If you use Windows XP you can use the USB monitor but you may not be able to display DHPOS full screen. However recently small reported that if you inst...

Re: Pole display using a monitor - New

Bruce, Did you get the very latest version where on the 40 character per line screens you can chose between the Courier and Lucida Console font? Here on XP I have no way, as far as I know, to change the orientation to portrait so I have no way to play with it to get it to work. Also the letters woul...

Re: Pole display using a monitor - New

Yet another new feature. To improve the readability of options 4 and 5, from the "Set display colors - Change font" option, you can choose between the Courier or Lucida Console fonts. If I do not stop pretty soon you will be able to read screens 4 & 5 from the moon. Someone really needs to stop me. ...

Re: New RECEIVE.EXE feature.

Bruce, I will look into the [ESC] thing. I will change the program so that if you are on a line that already has a stock number on it that the program will just beep rather than over write the stock number. I will include a warning that you are exiting the page with data unsaved. As soon as I make t...

Re: Pole display using a monitor - New

Good things come in small packages. (Yes, I am very ashamed of myself for the pun.) If you download this on or after 9-1-12 there is a change. On screen modes 4 & 5 the letters looked a little pale and hard to read. So with help from small302 we made the letters BOLD. This required that we make the ...

Re: New RECEIVE.EXE feature.

Bruce, I did find a problem with longer stock numbers that I fixed in version 7.1Jx2 at the same link. However it was only a problem when using the auto mode. And the problem caused the program to die, not display an error. I could not find your problem at all. However this program will not work wit...

Re: Pole display using a monitor - New

I just cannot seem to stop adding features to this.

Now you can change the text or screen colors to anything you want to.

http://keyhut.com/bigpole.htm <-- look near the bottom, you can't miss it.

Re: Pole display using a monitor - New

Bruce, I have no idea. This is a QB64 thing. I tried right clicking on the icon, then [Properties] to set the "Close on exit" box but the program does not have that option. I guess that you will have to ask small, he is our QB64 guru. Dale PS: can I repost your comment as "feedback" on the bigpole p...
