outdoorwood, Andrew is correct. Since you already have the scanner just try if out with my POS software. If it works that's great, it it does not work then you have lost nothing. You can also use any word processing software to test a scanner for DHPOS compatibility. Just fire up your word processin...

Bill Mc, You will have to create a stock table for all of the items in your store using the UPC code under the bars in the barcode as the stock number. Remember that there is a 13,000 limit on the number of different stock numbers you can put into the stock table. From here http://www.squaregear.net...

mrdmng,

Go to the "Journal" feature of the POSCONFG.EXE program and check the settings.

Do you have "Automate journal at open and close." set to YES ?

Do you have "Print the journal at close." set to YES ?

You might want to set the second one to NO

I am really not seeing the "split order" thing happening. It would take a lot of code and memory to impliment. Basically you could now print out the sale's "sales check", mark on it which item goes to which person. Then re-ring it as multiple sales while deleting the original sale. I do not know if ...

I think I have this fixed.

Make a backup of your current FILEINFO.EXE program file and then download http://www.dhpos.com/fileinfo.exe to your POS folder.

It is assumed that you currently have version 6.40 or 6.40a

Can I assume that the date on your computer's clock is correct? The next thing is are you getting the data from August 1st to now meaning that only time stamp is is incorrect, or are both the data and the time stamp incorrect. To find out you can go to the "Sale history - Z Reading" feature of the P...

New "kitchen" feature

Digicafe has asked me to finish the "kitchen" feature that I started long ago and then dropped to work on other stuff. This feature will send data on the things that have been sold to the GLOBAL folder. This will happen either when a sale is parked or completed. If a sale is unparked and new items a...

This is a reason why reusing the same stock number for a different product would be a REALLY BAD IDEA!

Format

Nick, I thought of that but I have no idea what the format is of the scanner output. Is it text? How are the different fields separated? Does it give you more information than the stock number and pieces received. What other information and in what order? Not that it all makes a difference at the mo...

Descriptions

bigrossco, When you change the description during a sale the new description is only printed on the receipt. When the sale is saved into the file of previous sales the descriptions are not saved to conserve space. This file can already be over 20 megabytes and saving the descriptions would double th...

Rounding error

Small, This is actually a rounding error that happens when you do not round the time and end up with something like 4.417 time units. In the example you sent to me the actual charge would be .8834 which was rounded to .88 for the line price but rounded to .89 for the Sub Total. This happens sometime...
