Re: Its the Apocalypse! Dale must join facebook.

Bruce, Well you did manage to somehow find my page. I did get your message and that is a bummer because it means that other people can send me a message. Do you know if there is anyway to prevent that? Someone else also found my page a few minutes after you and I have no idea who he is. I hope he do...

Re: Its the Apocalypse! Dale must join facebook.

The deed has been done, I am now an unwilling member of facebook. However it may not be so bad. I looked up my name while there and it seems as though there are a whole pile of "Dale Harris"s on Facebook so since there is nothing on my page, no photo, no profile, no posts, it may be really difficult...

Re: Its the Apocalypse! Dale must join facebook.

There has been progress on the social media front. I have finally figured out how to close my Linkedin account so I am no longer there.

I now have no social media access whatsoever. For me, this is progress.

Let's see how long this can last.

Re: Its the Apocalypse! Dale must join facebook.

I am SO dead. Well it looks like this 75th anniversary thing is going to happen. There was no mention at today's meeting about setting up a facebook account for it, but it is only a matter of time. So my question is, should I join up now, wait for the inevitable in the hope that the inevitable will ...

Re: VFD 2300 Customer Display

Well there are several problems here. First is that QB will not address COM ports other than 1 or 2. Second even though a USB port is technically a COM port is really not a 9 pin serial port which is what my program expects. Third is that my POS program has only been tested for Logic Control brand p...

Re: Its the Apocalypse! Dale must join facebook.

I forgot. The social media guy has also suggested that we post the plans on something called "Nextdoor" so maybe I will not have to deal with facebook. But unfortunately I think he still wants to have a facebook page also because, uh, well I really have no idea why. Maybe when I am forced to partici...

Re: Its the Apocalypse! Dale must join facebook.

Bruce,

That would be an excellent plan however I am not only the chairman but celebrating the 75th was my idea and so far I am the driving force behind it. If I bailed on it the whole thing would die.

Re: Its the Apocalypse! Dale must join facebook.

Deangelo's Wife, Thanks for the info. If I need help with the actual setting of the controls I will post here. Facebook seems to do a fine job of telling you how to do stuff on facebook but but falls way short on telling someone why anyone would want to do anything there, or what you can do while yo...

Its the Apocalypse! Dale must join facebook.

I am a member of the 6 Corners Association and we are going to be celebrating the 75th anniversary of the local Sears store. This will require community participation and the association has decided to open a facebook page for it. Since I am chairman of the promotions committee I will have to modera...

Re: THE END!

Bruce,

Anytime the QB7.1 god wants to remove the 640k memory limit I would be more than happy to stay.

It would also be nice if Billy would stick 32 bit support back into the newer versions of Windows.

Re: New history report feature.

Bruce, One thing I did not mention that I added to the program is that the history feature now checks the year. This means that it looks at the month / year of the saved data and compares it to the month / year calculated as belonging to the report. For example, if you make a history report for the ...

THE END!

No, not the end of DHPOS but it is the end of the DOS version. Except for possible bug fixes there will be no further new features for the DOS version of DHPOS. I have been struggling for the last several months to try to get the "rewards" feature, or anything else, into the POS.EXE file and it is j...

Re: New history report feature.

Here is the release version of the new history feature. Make sure that you backup your current version. At the top of the "Reports" menu it will be Version 7.1k http://dhpos.com/fileinfo.exe If you try to pass the start month with the end month (or the other way around) the other month will move too...

Re: This, is a test.

Bruce, I am sticking with the slider thing for choosing the dates. I have added more instructions at the bottom. I may make another change by forcing the other slide to move if you try to go past it. I will not "gray out" parts of the slide that cannot be accessed. The history data is stored in the ...
