Just An Idea: You could ring-up items and then put them on layaway/hold. This way, It would deduct the Quantities from the Inventory or, If you wanted to, add a <B>Quantity on Layaway/Hold</B> field in the Stock Table. Well, I think its just a bug and your Customer Database is fine. But I am not sure about it, I think it might need to be looked into a little more.

You Can Use the PayPal shopping cart. It allows customers to add items to your own customized shopping cart and then check out and pay via PayPal.
