Re: POS version 7.04 released 1-16-10.
Great information about going to the 'Close Register' to update the 'Starting Cash Fund'. I was still hoping for an "OPENCNT.EXE" kind of solution for the starting cash fund.

Re: POS version 7.04 released 1-16-10.
Dale, The trans # stuff make perfect sense. And it all makes sense for the closing count. What I wanted is an opencnt. I want to have employees use this before the register program prompts for the 'Enter Opening Cash Fund' when the program starts. As it is now you have to be at the main menu to run ...

Re: POS version 7.04 released 1-16-10.
hi Dale, I've tested this and it works great! I'll defntly be using this at my store. Understanding the open and close of the register/day seems to be the most confusing part for my employees. I would think this utility will help them understand the goal of open/close process. I would like to reques...

Re: POS version 7.04 released 1-16-10.
DL the new version 7.04b to test. I found a simular issue to Small's erroneous numbers on the Void screen with Gift Cards. However this is related to the reprint of receipts. When you go to the 5. Void Screen to reprint a receipt the receipt is different than the original. The erronious numbers are ...

Re: BETA test, dual printers, 64 bit
Dale,
Makes sense to use the 2 key punch. Given that some may have key conflicts or what not, would it make sense to add this as a setup option and allow the user to select the un-reserved 2 key punch that would work for their environment?

Re: BETA test, dual printers, 64 bit HERESY
Any wonder why there is the sound of crickets here in this thread's post. The long standing teachings of Dale says not to go towards the Windows. While some have stayed true to the movement and followed in the ways of DOS to DHPOS happiness, others have strayed to the edge of XP. But *this* is certa...

NO SALE transaction shows xtra char in jurnal
Hi Dale, I've noticed when I use the VOID feature to view previous transactions and come across a 'No Sale' transaction it has a bunch of extra characters and codes as shown below. Is this a corrupt file? All other transactions are formated correctly. Only the no sales have the extra characters. NO ...

Re: Test version 7.04x
Dale. Did the source file change? (http://www.dhpos.com/pos704x1.ex) I downloaded this version when it was first posted and the customer info printed OK on reprints. However my pc crashed and lost my POS. I DL it again but this version doesn't print the customer info on re-prints or show it on the V...

Pertelian X2040...Great product! Rollerball, Why do you hate yourself so much as to suffer with that which does not work?!!?!? Follow the word of Dale God, he will not lead you wrong. I have 3 of the Pertelian X2040 and they rock! Two are on my registers at work. One at home. This is a great enhance...

Re: 2nd networked register losing time
AFAIK, DHPOS doesn't maintain it's own time, when it needs a time reference it just uses the system time, whatever that may be...... cwathen, This is not 100% correct. When starting DHPOS it does fetch the system time to use as its clock. However once DHPOS is running it no longer references the re...

Re: To tax, or not to tax... entire sale with a single key
Ok, this makes sense. I now see why this seemed strange. In my case, my POS is set up with Cherry Programmable Keyboards which have macros asigned to keys for Cash, Credit, Check, etc. So in my world, when I select a method (using my KB) it kind of is the end of the transaction. However using the + ...

Re: To tax, or not to tax... entire sale with a single key
Hey dale, Didn't know It was there, cool! It seems a bit odd setting tax exempt after you are selecting a payment method. I think it would be more intuitve for someone to choose setting tax exempt anytime before getting to the payment method. but it sure beats a re-ring and F7 each item. thanks dale...

To tax, or not to tax... entire sale with a single key
Hi Dale, I have a suggestion for an added feature to be incorporated into the F7 Change Tax key. On the purchase screen, F7 allows the current item being rung up to have its tax rate changed if the cursor is in the Price or Quantity field (doesn't work if in the Discription field). I would like to p...

Re: Clock is not correct when returning from hibernation
For those who insist on having their puters hibernate and still expect DHPOS to work, try this compromise. Instead of using the POS.EXE to start DHPOS directly, use a batch file to start it. In the batch file, temporarely turn hibernate off while running POS and turn it back on once POS is closed. M...
