Dale, while browsing forums, I found this thread on networking and it helped me greatly. It could be worth a sticky in a thread all to itself.

Feature Request...
I'd like to see a Backup option as listed in "Backup suggestions to avoid catastrophic data loss....". Having these readily available within the program itself would be amazing and easy to implement.

Let's say I have a "server" (Windows XP Professional), a client (Windows XP Home) and the setup is as follows: Internet - Router -> Server --> Client Server has four drives: Floppy (A), Hard Disk (C), Hard Disk (E), DVD+/-RW (D) Client has two drives: Hard Disk (C), DVD-ROM (D) I'm wanting to use th...

Networking with DOS
I know this probably has been covered... but... one of my friends gave me an old Packard Bell PC (25Mhz, 4MB of RAM, 400MB HDD), and I'm wondering what's a good DOS network card to snag up to network this to a server. I'm not a DOS networking pro... and I just know Windows basic LAN stuff... so I'm ...

Alright, I LOVE the DHPOS system... but my problem lies not in the software, but the business I'm using it in... I'm turning to you guys for advice. There is a small gaming / hobby store that's in a bad location... the owner is very sick (cancer), he's the nicest guy in the world and he left my frie...

Alright... I'm not much on minimalistic distros. I've got SuSE, RedHat and Mandrake... the only minimalistic distro I'm familiar with is Trustix (VERY secure). I know my workplace uses MS-DOS on workstations (which is rather hard to setup for networking if you don't have the right network card), and...

Kind of a silly 'bug'
Not really a bug... but on the beta I noticed it still had 2005 as the current year... since this project is alive and well it 'should' be changed to 2006... I dunno, consider me picky, LOL.

Sounds awesome Dale, it's almost exactly the way the systems @ my place of main employment works. Not only does this feature help out the managers, but sometimes non-intelligent employees (we'll call them 'The Zoo Crew') forget to do these things. At my main place of employment I'm an assistant mana...

Now that it's been tested, is there a way to implement this as a feature in DHPOS instead of having to set it up manually each time? Sure, a BAT file could be created, but I'm just thinking along the lines of 'user-friendly'. Maybe possibly 'do away' with Aprint? Aprint is a great program, but the m...

Uber Cheap POS Hardware
Working on a tight budget guys, I need to know if anyone knows where to get a cheap cash drawer and receipt printer (other than eBay).

Networking...
Probably been asked, but not to this extent... I'll go into detail. Keep in mind I know how to network, but it's not a big specialty for me... but bear with me... MS Windows 98 Machine as a POS Server... Windows 95/98 as the clients. File and Print Sharing setup on the Server... and on the Uplink/Sh...
