But if you are using a scanner, why not just scan one of the five items five times? It keeps you from having to put the scanner down, go to the keyboard and press keys.

I think you should be able to. What you do with a keyboard like this is program each key to send a string of key codes to the computer. For instance, you could program one button for exact chage, and have that key send the command to the end the sale, select cash payment and enter the exact amount a...

John,

1. You cannot have two registers in one POS file. Each POS file represents one register. Please elaborate.

2. You can have POS in any folder you want, but the executable program files must be in the same directory in order for the program to recognize them.

Looks like a way to scam some cash out of you. Just find another host. It's not worth the problems.

Jon,

Correct me if I am wrong, but the POLE.DAt file is simply a text file which has the text to be written to the display in it?

So, theoretically one could write a very simple Visual Basic, C, Java, etc... program to read the data from the file and then send it to the USB port?

Losing focus

Why don't you put your focus on one project at a time? You will never finish your work if you are working on 30 different programs at once. Work to get one project working well and use it to build the others-rather than building all of them seperately.
