Any fix for Void 1 cent problem

Post by ednacell » Sun Oct 30, 2005 9:07 am

When I void any sales transaction from the main void menu, I allways a 1 cent error, e.g., if I a void 10.00 i get void -9.99 as a result. This only happens went voids end with xx.00 e.g., void 11.00 and the result is -10.99
Any help,

Voids

Ednacell,

Let me guess, you are using "included" tax. Unfortunatly, no. The program voids just fine with "added" tax becasue the price of the item is a whole number of cents and just the tax goes to tiny decimals which are never actually shown. However with "included" tax both the price and tax on an item are decimals. (Please don't make me explain more because it would take almost forever, just trust me.) This leads to an occasional rounding error of 1¢.

Fortunatly voiding out a completed sale should be a rare event. In the last 36 years of running my store I have had, let me count them up here, NONE.

@Dale
Thank you, I think I got what I needed to know, just go from included tax to added tax and the void works fine. I do alot of voids my employees are in the learning phase and read very little english. You have a great program.
