DOS software

thegmailer,
IBMsystems has a point. The Cash Register program is DOS software. This means that with a few exceptions the Windows keyboard functions do not do anything.
[CTRL] does absolutely nothing.
The [ALT] key is only used by the program to in conjuction with the numeric keypad to enter foreign language characters into text.
[DELETE] will remove the character at the cursor position when entering text. It will also turn off a timer.
When entering text [INSERT] will toggle the program between adding or overwriting text at the cursor position.
[ESC] will usually stop what you are doing and return you to the previous screen.
The only two Windows keyboard commands I know of that do anything are [ALT] + [TAB] will minimize the POS program in Windows and [ALT] + [ENTER] will toggle the POS program between full screen and a window.

O My Gosh I Acually Have Been Some What Correct
If You Do Need Some Other Things I Suggest You Look In To Buying A POS Keyboard Also I Do NOT Suggest Using The Keyboard That Came With Your System Most Of The Time I Throw Them Out
(just ask andrew we all have seen the evil results of a standard system keyboard in chat)

My main problem is withe [esc] as alot of the functions in POSCONFIG.EXE require the [esc] key.
Thanks for the responses so far.

1. go to walmart or some place that sells keyboards
2.buy the cheepest one
3.take it home get it out of the packing materials
4.hook it up
5.go throw the other one out the window
6. Enjoy!

Hey folks,
I think that you have lost the concept. The problem is not thegmailer's keyboard, that works fine. The problem is that thegmailer wants a DOS program to execute Windows keyboard shortcuts. That is not going to happen and a new keyboard will not help.

use the windows stander driver not any other driver. go to the device manager and delet any keyboards that you find and restart you pc. it will find the keyboard and use bace drives and it shoud fix the problem
