how about we have a guest/newbie section where poeple can post and reply while unregistered but you have to registered in all the other sections.

I think it's best to just keep the login requirement across the board - otherwise we will still be plagued with this spam in the unregistered-accessible board.

Dale seems to think we should re-allow guest access, I'm waiting to hear why :P

So we may end up putting it back or doing... something.

Peachey, except that forum would get spammed to death...

The spam bots search automatically for open forums.

I'm looking at a way around this :D

maybe some sort of CAPTCHA system, on DLWPD's blog to post a comment you have to ansewer a simple mathamatical question eg: 10+2.

Both the new system and the identification are a good idea, though I know have to be bother loggin in (which i never do!)

I found a way to maybe re-allow guest access, it would require you to select from a drop down list to verify you are a person :P

Most of the spam bots today choke on this, but should be easy enough for a genuine human being...

I'll see when I can implement this, next week is brutal...
