What about shared folders.....

Post by DJLiljengren » Sun Feb 15, 2004 10:48 pm

Theoretically, couldn't you share folders on one computer, to contain the POS Stock Table, and all that good stuff, then have registers networked, to access those files, maybe using Win2000 Server for the central computer, and Professional for the registers?? This makes sense, but then again, DOS may not like it, post thoughts, I am curious. :D

DJ,

POSnet is already available as a BETA - you create a folder on any computer as long as you can share it - then on each terminal that needs to access it you need to map to the shared folder (this means assigning a drive letter to the share folder path e.g. Z:)

More detailed instructions are in the POSnet concept topic thread.
