It happened one day June 21 that we saved the Sales Report by Category which we always do. But on June 22, when we look at the Sales Report by Category, the sales last June 21 is still there. Did you encounter this?

After June 21, did you remember to reset the merchandise data? If you don't - then DHPOS simply accumulates those totals until you do.
Don't forget also, if you're using DHPOS on a network - you'll need to close all the registers and then close on the global POS folder, and reset the merchandise data when prompted there.
DHPOS User Manual wrote:Some stores want to know what they sell on a daily basis, some weekly, and some monthly. If you want to know what you sell monthly but printout and clear the merchandise totals daily then you have a lot of adding to do at the end of the month. Only when you are on the last day of your accounting period should you clear the merchandise sales data. (But make sure that you print out the data first!) Make sure that the person who closes out your register knows when, and when not, to clear the merchandise sales data.

Yes.
Reports

JohnHeart,
Well that is kind of weird, I never heard of that happening before. When you did the report the next day was the report doubled again?
An easy way to check and keep this from happening again is to make one of those reports just after you open the register in the morning. If all the data is not zero then close out the register again and re-open.

I have to check with my staff.

I've checked the data file that my staff saved which we usually do before we close the register at the end of the day. We name it by date. So, when I checked the properties of 210606.txt, it shows it was created on June 22, 2006 at 12 o'clock noon. I guess my staff didn't want to admit the mistake for not closing the register.

It happened once again. My new staff saved it at 9PM. Then in the morning at 10AM, my staff noticed the items sold yesterday was still there in the Report by Stocks.
Forget again?

JohnHeart,
If they forgot once they can forget again. The first thing I do when I start the register in the morning is to go to the "8. Reports" feature and display a merchandise report. If it is clear I then start ringing up sales. It takes about 3 seconds to display the report on the screen and I then do not have to worry that the previous shift did not reset the merchandise data.
Of course if I ever find that the merchandise data was not reset I would then just close out the register right then and reset the merchandise data, then reopen the register.

That time, my staff did not forget to reset the merchandise. Looking at 8. Reports every morning may be a solution but maybe this issue should be addressed, too on the next release if there's one.

Thanks.
Reset

JohnHeart,
I guess I could add a line to the closing receipt that says "MERCHANDISE DATA HAS BEEN RESET" but that would only confirm that your folks did not reset the merchandise data when it does not appear on last night's closing receipt.
Since this would be a huge problem for all users if it did not actually work every time, it would seem that over the last 4 years (the routine has not been changed since the first version) that I would have gotten a bug report about this before now, or at least more than one bug report now. but so far you are the only one.

I'll let you know if this happens again. Thanks.
