Report Date is not accurate

I've noticed that if we use the report "History by Vendor / #Stock" and we fill the number of months like 2 or 3 months, the day range at the top of report result always show from first month to today date.
Example :
I want to print the history by vendor report from last 3 months.
The date at the top of report shows " 1 Aug 2006 to 22-08-2006"
No matter how many months we input, the result always the same.

And then, can we print the report per month ? I don't know how to print the history by vendor for items that sold in May or June or July. All I know is we only can print the report from desired month to today.
