error on com printing

error on com printing

hey, heres something different to serial printing i bought i printer with lpt and 232 so i decided to get a challenge! or as dale would say a headace and a job for life!

well here is the error
Bad file name or number in line 2 of module POSFIG4 at address 348B:6EDD

Hit any key to return to system
any ideas?

also i find it slow printing in windows? any other ideas?

the printer is a star scp700

also while doing dos prompt

Device COM1 is not currently available.

Ian, sorry mate but you've got a death wish. You've bought a very specialised 2-station printer there that is obviously unsuitable for running DHPOS. You see this kind of thing being offered on Ebay all the time but I'd suggest it needs some some fairly specialised software to run. You should avoid this kind of thing like the plague. I'm not surprised that there is a printer error - how can DHPOS know how to differentiate between the two print stations?

I agree with rollerball on this one i dobut that this printer will work with DHPOS

The COM1 Not avabile error is beacuse of a Software App or another Device on COM1

its got built in lpt so there is no real problem but i wanted to try with 232
but found that problem, i only have 1 com port on my pc...

if i can get it to be availabe i may be in for a chance

OK just a little update!

i changed ther IRQ in the bios and changed the PnP OS installed to no

as soon as i did that i got port settings when i booted to win2k... i change the settings, once i did that i changed the settings in the epos software and it worked firt time no problem using com1/232
