Hi I am willing to create/host a dhpos wiki for dhpos(user manual and related items), but I am wondering if this is something that would be used/if people are willing to help/contribute to it. if the turnout is good I will have it up by the end of the week.

IAN, have you ever been to http://www.wikipedia.com
it will basically be like wikipedia.com but only for dhpos terms/use.
so it will be a searchable encyclopedia for dhpos with dhpos terminology(and some mainly used cash register terms, obviously).
it will also be a searchable users guide as well

i must agree, lots of great stuff but its hard to find, but its not the website its more of the information on the forum.
It would be good to have an indexing of popular problems, instructions and commands.
most of what i learn was from reading manyt hours on the forum from other users problems, but when i search i get non-related stuff too i dont know why.
The "user manual" is a great read but only if nothing goes wrong!
i think it would be a good idea to have it usernamed and password protected, for additional information to be added that way you can see if its a great tool for the best of us and not just to the new guy who came 5 mins ago not fully knowing.

I think what we should have is use Joomla as a CMS. Have latest software news on the homepage, and have a section for each software product. Then we could use a wiki component for the wiki, and a forum component for the forums.
I could host the new site, on my paid host - if you wanted to point the domain there or use a subdomain.
