Problems using "ask before printing receipts"

Post by lemon535 » Sat Jan 06, 2007 2:57 am

I have tried this on two different setups and it happens on both.
_________________________________________________________________

Currently i have them set to "ask before printing sale receipt"

If i ring up a sale, then total it i get a message

┌──────────────────────────┐
│ 1. Print receipt |
│ 2. Do not print receipt. |
└──────────────────────────┘

If I choose 1. Print Receipt, then the cash drawer pops open and it prints a receipt

If i choose 2. Do not print receipt, then the drawer pops open and no receipt prints.

______________________________________________________________________

Its fine every time if i choose 1. Print receipt
but when i start using 2. Do not print receipt
then weird stuff starts happening.

If i did select 2. Do not print receipt,The drawer pops open and no receipt prints.which is fine but
then when i ring up the next sale if i choose 1. print receipt, it prints receipt but drawer doesnt open,

then on the next sale if i choose 1. Print receipt, it prints and the drawer opens.

(i would like to be able to select 2. Do not print receipt, and have the drawer open)

This is really confusing. Can people please try this out for me. Its a pain when i dont want to
print receipt but want the drawer to open, when i dont want to print receipts i have to manually open
the drawer using the key.

This might be different if the cash drawer was connected to COM but mine are connected to the printer.

This sort of makes sense, If the printer doesn't do a receipt, It might forget to send the kick drawer code to the printer.
Still a bug though.

Lemon535,

I'm using a similar setup and have never had any problems, therefor I don't think it is a bug in the program.

Have you tried different printers and printer open codes?
Have you checked the cables and connectors for the cash drawer?

What printer, DHPOS version and Operating system are you using?

Copy the old stocktable file (*.TBL), paste it into the new folder containing the fresh install of DHPOS and rename it whatever you called your new register e.g. MARTHA.TBL
