You have to remember that changing any of the options or the way they are displayed will not only change them for you but will also change them for 300,000+ other users. They will all have to remember that what was option #1 is now option #2 (and so on) and not to press the same keys that they have been pressing for years but to press other keys instead. While you may like this I will instantly become real unpopular with a very large number of folks.

When you are at the payment options screen there are other things you can do there besides choosing a payment option. You can round the sale to the nearest .05 or .10. You can make the entire sale nontaxable. You can park the sale. You can return to the sale or void it. If this screen were skipped then you would not be able to use those features.

So I think the best option for you would be (as Bruce suggested) for you to get a progammable keyboard. You can then program it so that when one key is presssed on the keyboard many keypresses will be simulated in the program.
