Hi, you can look up the history of a card from the main screen:

-- Go into "8. Reports"
-- Select "Q. Gift Card"
-- Enter a gift card ID to obtain a transaction history for that card.

Gift Card Look-up

I wish that there could be a way to see a complete record of your gift cards, without entering a ID#. That would be a cool new feature to add to the program Dale!

EST,

So what are you hoping for? You press a button and the history of 35,000 gift cards pours out of the printer?

NO. I would like the ability to have a way to see all my outstanding giftcards that are left.

Yeah, it will be great if you can find out which card is inactive, zero balance, so you can clear those out to save database space.

EST & psung,

Since I have no shame in trying to get others to do my work I will have you design the feature.

Details count. Don't just say you want a way to poll all cashed in cards. Tell me what screen you want to do this on, what choices you want, what information is needed, etc.

Cover all possibities, all things you might want to know about existing gift cards. If a query results in 2000 hits how will all that information be displayed or printed. Post sample screens.

Discuss your ideas with each other here, let others join in. Keep at it until there is a consensus.

When you have it all done I may come back and steal all your ideas and jamb it into the program. But right now I am going to make some popcorn, lean back in my chair and watch the debate.

I sure hope you folks are more entertaining that most things that are on TV.

Dale
