Bug fixes.

Program would die when the 26th line of a sale would be rung up.

When creating a new register file or upgrading to version 6.40, HUGE values could appear in the amounts for gift card and user defined sales totals. This would also cause the program to crash later when making a report "A. Sales Report"

These problems have been overcome in version 6.40a which can be downloaded at the usual place...

The best way is to try it and see - make a copy of your current POS folder and install the new version in there.

lsunw,

It is kind of had to say when you did not state what the error actually is or what the program was trying to do when the error occured.

this problem occur occasionally only...

After rung up roughly 20-25 sales (i didn't record how many)... then when i want to start a new sale, I click enter for "1. Purchase" then the program just die and close it-self...and after that I see the windows desktop...then I start the POS.exe to go through all the Opening process...then everything going fine for a while until it die another time...in 1 day this happen roughly 3-4 times

I was upgrading from version 6.39, I had run the stock table CONVERT, runing on WIN XP Pro. Removed all the previous parked sales.

This never heppen before I run the POS on ver. 6.39

Another small complain, in POS Config I had choose NOT ALLOWED Cash Back on credit card, but when I rung the sale for the credit card it still keep asking me to enter the amount for cash back....can remove this step or not?

lsunw,

The problem with fixing that problem is that I cannot get it to occur here and no one else, as far as I know, is having that problem.

I will look into the cash back thing.

I think it get worse before after I upgrade from ver. 6.40 to 6.40a

Today caught another error, while rung the sale, " Out of stack space in line 7 of module POS3 at address 238D:457G"

During the upgrade from ver 6.39 to 6.40 i didnt removed the VOID file recorded...could it the cause of problem.

Now I have DHPOS runing for 2 yrs and what files can i delete which is not using in 6.40 or re-created newer file...coz from what i seem like the DHPOS 6.40 got problem reading some old file.

Thank you.

lsunw,

I have been working on this for several days now. I cannot get the problem to occur and so far no one else is complaining about it.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Hi

Thank you for your troubleshooting...

Anyway, i had swap back to ver.6.39q for now, and everything work fine.

Do you think i can send you all the original files to you to simulate the same bug?

Problem with POS

Post by xcinek » Fri Oct 26, 2007 8:25 pm

I have been using this program in my store for over two years now.
TI have version 6.40 installed. It does crash once in a while. Don't knwo why it gives me an error. I just one a new one and its no problem just frustrating sometimes. Why It happens??? I have no clue...

I see people are saying it happens more oftehn if you install the newer version. Now my question is if I down grade to 6.39 do I just over ride like when you upgrade?? is it the same procedure? Let me know if you have done this any one.. Thanks for the Program Dale

You are truly the best.

Copying the 6.39 program files over the 6.40 files should take you back to the previous version except that you will have to delete the ??????.PS1 file which will not allow you to run report "A. Sales report" from a time previous to when you deleted the ??????.PS1 file.
