I jest got POS IBM Terminal 4695-201 touch screen.

How do I get pos to run on it

Well basically, you don't get DHPOS to work on it.

Since DHPOS does not have a graphical interface there is no way it can work with a touch screen, you will have to do all of your inputting with the keyboard.

I am assuming that the dealie behind the screen is a customer display. If it uses the Control Logic command set you may be able to use the POLE.EXE program that comes with DHPOS to drive the display, but who knows?

I see that it has various COM ports ports and that might work for the cash drawer, maybe. However without a parallel printer port or a USB port how are you going to connect a receipt printer. Not to a COM port, that won't work with DHPOS.

Does the unit come with DOS or Windows or does it have a propriatary operating system that will not support DHPOS?

Too many questions about the unit, too few answers. DHPOS is designed to work with basic PC hardware, if you go out and get someting exotic then you are pretty much on your own.

Allmost all IBM hardware is simply a computer with extras BUT i do not believe there is any way to get windows on to those units without opening the unit, attaching drives in a weird way, installing an OS, drivers etc. you could get DHpos running on this but the touch screen would DO NOTHING AS THERE IS NO GUI TO DHPOS and there wont be any time soon or at all it seems. You would need to use a keyboard and mouse with this unit so really all it is is an all in one PC
also a downside would be every time you touch the screen it would be a mouseclick. i am not sure how DHPOS would react to that. I also dobut that the internal customer display would work because of previous experience with their interfaces
final verdict: its doable but not worth it

It will run dos, windows 3.1, windows 95 and windows 98.

How do install win98 and dhpos on it?

if you get windows running on the machine, you could run the on screen keyboard with DHPOS and then you could use a touchscreen to run DHPOS
