The chatroom has changed, you can either join it on IRC (#dhpos on chat.freenode.net) or via http://www.dhpos.com/pchat/ . Dale posted this in an announcement earlier this year.

Yes, But not on the computor with your POS on it. I decided not to hook the POS Computor to the net. Because I don't want anybody retriving sensitive Info. We have wireless with all other comfusers in our house. Bob in PA

Not having POS on the computer that you use for the net will not have anything to do with your computer's ability to access the chat room. When you try to go there are you asked if you want to download Java?
