POS version 6.40L released 8-13-08. Bug fixes

There is a problem with the "history" feature in DHPOS versions 6.40g to 6.40k. To see if you have the problem go to the "Reports" feature and do a "History by stock" report. Do it for several months back. If you have the same stock numbers come up on more than one line then you have the problem. This problem will cause bizarre results when you do a "History" report and eventually the history file will grow so large the POS program will die when it tries to load it.
Of course if you do not use the “Sales History” feature then you will not have the problem.
To fix the problem you first must upgrade to the current version of the program 6.40L. http://keyhut.com/pos3.htm
Now you must run the program file FIX_HIST.EXE program file and follow the instructions. If you are using this on a network run this program only from your GLOBAL folder.
You have to run FIX_HIST.EXE for each different set of register files on your computer, or on the network. To see if the fix worked run the "Reports" test described in the first paragraph above. If there are no longer multiple lines with the same stock number then the history file has been repaired. You only have to run the FIX_HST.EXE file one time (for each set of register files) and the problem will not re-occur as long as you are running version 6.40L or later.
