I plan to get a RS232 port cash drawer, i understand that DHPOS is not recommended to use serial port cash drawer, but i would like to know any specific information i need to know before try to get 1 that can work with DHPOS? (because I bought the cash drawer online, so unlikely they will test the drawer for me)

lsunw,
Go to the "Open drawer" feature of the POSCONFG.EXE program and press [TAB] until it is set to COM, then press [ENTER]. The following is from the manual....
COM:
If you choose to open the cash drawer through the COM: serial port then you must have a cash drawer that plugs into your computer through the computer's serial port.
After choosing COM: you will be asked to choose which .BAT file you will be using to actually pop open the cash drawer, 3 for the COM1: port and 3 for the COM2: port. Highlight them one at a time and then press [F4] to test it. If it works press [ENTER] to make your choice permanent.
To actually open a serial cash drawer the files SERIAL1.BAT to SERIAL6.BAT files must be in the folder on your computer drive that has the POS program.
