Quick Cash Feature!

Hi Dale & Everyone,

Have a request for a quick cash feature, whereby instead of each sale typing in the tender amount for cash sales you could select from a pre-defined set of 'quick option' choices for the currency.
Eg. Sale total is $25.90 for mechandise or what ever you are selling. The associate selects payment option 'cash' and then instead of manually typing in the tender amount each time, you just select the desired option from a list on screen (EG, $100 note, $50 note, $20 note, $10 note or $5.00 note) and POS does the rest for you. Could be a great feature for those doing repetitive transactions in a busy restaurant, fast food or bar service environment. Any thoughts or suggestion?

By the way, all our staff are loving the program, much better than our traditional push button cash registers that would NEVER balance at the end of the shift.

Cheers!

Instead of Dale having to code all this you could just re-configure your keyboard. A program such as this: http://www.klm32.com/KbdEdit.html lets you configure a key (when pressed) to enter characters. So for your problem, pick a key and for the $100 have the character '10000' and ascii 13 to simulate you pressing the ENTER key.

Hopes this Helps

Thanks vxlancin,

I will give it ago and see how we go.... we just have to see which keys we don't use on the keyboard at the POS.

Thanks
Simon
