DHPOS book ripoff?

Post by daleadmin » Mon Dec 13, 2010 10:51 pm

Some folks are marketing a so-called DHPOS book. Here is one of the ads http://www.amazon.com/DHPOS-Lambert-M-S ... 259&sr=1-1

I have no direct contact with this book, I have not ordered it, I have not read it. I do not know anyone who has.

However the Product Description is...
High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Cash Register POS...

I take this to mean that this is a reprint in book form of this Wikipedia page for DHPOS http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DHPOS

How this comes out to 208 pages is beyond my comprehension. It may be possible that the book consists of many Wikipedia articles and depending on what you order the page and title are changed. According to this Wiki page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lambert_M. ... ontroversy these books are printed on order. It may be possible that this book also includes the 158 pages of my DHPOS manual which is available for free as a .PDF download at http://www.dhpos.com/register.pdf

Since I have not seen this book it is also possible that this is a totally legitimate book written by these folks in a real attempt to help users with understanding my POS software. But I really doubt that. Does $75.00 for a 208 page paperback book seem like a good deal to you?

I am not going to throw $75.00 away to find out. If you have $75.00 to waste you may want to blow it by purchasing this book. Let me know what you think about it. I would like to be proven wrong, but that is not likely.
