Hi all

Is it possible to set the POS prog to search using vendor code by default instead of pressing * (SHIFT+8) to switch from bar code to vendor code.

No, not at this point. Because you would normally have more than one item under a single vendor code.

Thus, a search displays a list of the products from that vendor.

Also, I've found that POS works better with an extended keyboard with a dedicated number pad on the right. With this, you can just hit the (*) key with no shifting and entering numbers and the (+) key is super easy.

Most notebook computers will support a PS2 keyboard for this that is easier to type on, can be connected and disconnected at any time on most notebooks, and can be bought for around $10 US.

Also, for notebooks, look into a dedicated number pad... it plugs into the keyboard port on the back and gives you the number pad missing from most laptop keyboards.
