I do not know what you are going to use your website for but free web hosting usually means ads are placed on your site by the host, usually in the form of pop-ups.

So like everything else in life it is a trade off. Do you want a professional looking site you pay a few bucks a month for or do you want to host ads for your host?

You go to http://www.1asphost.com and login.

You should then be looking at the filemanager - there's a big dropdown box which says "UPLOAD FILES...", click it and select single files or zip file. Then wait while it redrects you...

goto freewebspace.net, search their forums. many of them there have no ads on their hosted sites.
BTW if yoiu want a domain/redirector, goto http://www.uni.cc
