Is it possible to use a ftp server as a POSnet server?

Ahh, you could try but I don't think so.
See, DHPOS needs read and write access to the global folder, if this folder is on an FTP server, then normally we use an FTP client program to access files stored there don't we?
Also, when you want to access a file from FTP to make changes, normlly you have to download the file to your hard drive, make the changes, and upload it again to the FTP server.
DHPOS needs to access the files "on the fly", even if it could upload/download etc this would require internet access for your registers, and would slow down processing. Not to mention the fact that file collisions/corruption could occur when registers try to access/write to the file all at the same time.
