Question of the week...

Post by rickpos » Mon Sep 05, 2005 10:00 pm

Please take a moment to cast your vote. We're trying to get a sense of how many DHPOS users would run the program in Native DOS if display pole support would be added.

Another reason is because Windows is temperamental at times and causes problems with DHPOS. No business needs those kinds of issues!

Running in native DOS would pretty much eliminate those problems. Users running DHPOS in a networked environment could look into a number of dos tcp/ip loaders which run in extended memory to free up conventional memory needed to run DHPOS.

This is going to happen in the next version 6.37. At least it will be in the program. If it works with any particular pole display, that will be the question.

Eyewitness reports have reported seeing Dale Harris at his Chicago home, piecing together a pole display from a paper towel cardboard tube, and an old toothpaste box.

One can only imaging at the difficulty he will have hooking the cable made of packaging string, to his serial port. We wait in anticipation for further details...
