Scanner Feature in POSCONFG
Post
by ChrisKraus » Sat Jan 31, 2004 1:20 pm
In the Scanner feature, when you select option 1, you get the following feature option:
Scanner Feature Option #1 in POSCONFG (Quote From Memory) wrote:1. If the Stock Number is entered within 1 second and is greater than 999999, then it is automaticly assumed that it was scanned.....
The only thing that should be changed is the
999999 rule. Some stores, like thrift stores., might have something like 8 catogories so they would use catogories 1 through 8 and then have 8 Stock Numbers.
Just A Suggestion,
Chris

Chris,
If you do not have a scanner or barcodes then I don't see what the problem would be. Unless you can type at superhuman speeds the program will just assume that every stock number in a sale was typed in on the keyboard, as it must have been since you don't have a scanner.
Actually what you did say was "Not everyone uses barcodes in their store" and I would assume that this means that they do not have a scanner either. Actually it would be kind of interesting to see them try to use a scanner if their merchandise did not have barcodes.

Okay, Forget that I said that. If you have barcodes 1 through 8, you might have a barcode sheet at the register for fast entry.
