Might want to remove POSitive from the free/almost free list

Basic module is $899USD and the bare minimum configuration (w/o hardware is almost $2000USD if you add credit card/AR functions)

It's now in the same ball park as General Store

The demo is the free version, it is pretty much functional except it only holds up to 50 items.

Yes, After Looking on the Cash Register News Center about an article I saw before, I found out more about XpertMart.
They do have a free 60-day trial.
XpertMart will Run On a PC, Mac or Linux Computer.
The Website is: http://www.xpertmart.com or http://www.mac-pos.com

X-Charge

Post by Lenora » Tue Apr 26, 2005 3:57 pm

X-Charge is proprietary software (Free Software) that will allow you integrate your POS and your credit card processing for a more secure and convenient transaction. We offer competitive rates and full support. If you think your discount rate is lower, let us examine your statement!! No cost, No obligation-Side by side comparison I am personally available to answer all your processing questions.

Lenora, we thank you....yet oddly enough we're well aware of X-Charge and in the process of intergrading it into our software. Thanks for pointing it out again.

Yet once again, isn't it rude to discuss other free/"semi-free" POS software applications in the forum of a currently great POS application? If you do want to discuss the matter, start your own blessed forum somewhere else. As for me, I'm sticking with DHPOS. Not because it's free <although that's quite nice>, but because it works great! Let's show some respect to the Dale.

Free / semi free POS

Post by Dale Harris » Tue May 03, 2005 3:32 pm

Guest,

Actually it was ChrisKraus who started this topic, not Lenora, she just joined in as did you.

I have no problem with folks mentioning other POS software. I am sure that there is POS software out there that is better than mine. It would have to be. I am a self-taught programmer who is doing this by myself (mostly, Jon has provided several things that I could not do) in my spare time.

Surely the teams of programmers with degrees in programming hired by POS software companies to work full time on producing POS software have to be able to do better than me. Plus there are many retail applications for which DHPOS is just not suitable.

I created this software because first I was bored and needed something to do, but secondly to help the little mom and pop shops out there better compete with the global-mega-hyper marts of the world. Sure, eventually Wal-Mart will be the only remaing retail presence in America but lets see if we can put that off just a little while longer.

Review of Volutive

Post by Guest » Thu Jan 26, 2006 1:46 pm

Volutive POS is pretty nice. It does take some time to configure the application, but it's not bad. The one feature I really enjoyed was the unlimited amount of stores and then activites you can put into the program.

I would give it a 8.5 out of 10 rating :D
