You get what you pay for.

They are cheap partially because they come with no operating system ( NO OS ) meaning that you will have to purchase and install either Windows, DOS, or Linux. They also do not come with monitors.

So once you add in the cost of an OS and monitor and the hassle of installing the OS would it not cost almost the same to wander into your local Best Buy, Circuit City, or Comp USA and get their cheapest computer that comes with a monitor and OS. Remember that the cheapest computer that you can buy today is 1000 times better than what my POS program will require.

I've found that the Dell Vostro range is cheap and cheerful, and, as Dale said, would be 1000 times more powerful than needed. Just make sure you get XP with it, and ga\et the bare minimum configuration, viola! Cheap PC. They start from AU$699, I think, or thereabouts. IBM\Lenovo make cheap systems too, but I'm not sure if they come with a monitor.
Goodbye and thankyou!

Under $100! Much more powerful than you will need, you provide an OS and a monitor and you're in business!
