The Warehouse opened it's first megastore in New Zealand today at a new hypermart development in Auckland City.

Glad to see they're still using their DOS based application Store Controller for POS lol.

Are The Warehouse NZ related to The Warehouse in AUS (they have similar logos) because Warehouse AUS uses DOS software to.

But our 'The Warehouse' is one of those bargain shops, not a supermarket

Yup, the Warehouse NZ bought a few of your similar chain stores and rebranded them but the Australian arm hasn't been doing as well and I think they might be selling it off soon unless it turns around.

It is essentially a bargain shop - but on a large scale, the supermarket is a new venture they're going into, this is the first store they've built with a full supermarket service, other stores have had basic food items though but only 1 or 2 aisles at most. According to the floor plan the supermarket/liquor/cafe section is almost half the floor space in this store.

They probably do use the same software, as it's custom-built as far as I know and have used it for years. Quite amazing given the number of terminals and yet they can still get almost real-time data last I heard from all those stores.

DHPOS resemblance
