I think that that is the best solution. You could even have it boot windows after you exit the pos.I use the autoexec.bat file to run at startup.
DHPOS to start at computer startup?

Somewhere behind the athlete you've become, the hours of practice and the coaches who've pushed you, is the little boy who fell in love with the water and never looked back. Swim for him and no one else...
However, if you use Windows NT, 2000, ME or XP it ignores Autoexec, leaving it only for compatability issues when using DOS mode programs, so for POS to run at start up at least in these versions, you need another solution.
For DOS, Windows 98 SE and below, autoexec is a very good solution, depending on how you want POS to run.
In the end, there are problems with every solution, you just have to try them all until you find one that you like and does what you want :-)

I GOT IT!!!!
Okay everyone.
i made a sort of program to run at startup.
it gives a menu to start windows or start
POS, if you select windows,it boots windows.
if you select pos, however, you get another
menu: you can goto POS or POSCONFIG!
so if your on a network, the backoffice can
boot to posconfig without goin through the
files and finding it, and the registers can
boot pos easy too!
It is also easy to install (and no registry edits!)!
N e how, i emailed this to dale and we'll
see if it gets posted!
Thanx,
