Currency exchange.
Gary,
I assume that what you want to do is be a currency exchange where people bring in money in one type of denomination (like U.S. dollars) and then you exchange them for British Pounds. You are not actually selling a product you are only exchanging money and need to be able to calculate how much you should give them in Pounds depending on how many dollars they give you at the current exchange rate.
You must use the "Currencies" feature of the POSCONFG.EXE program to setup the different currencies you want to exchange. You may setup up to 9 different currencies.
Assuming that you have entered in the correct exchange rate when you then start the POS.EXE program you can ring up a sale of nothing i.e. a net total of 0.00. You will have to ring up one piece of something at 0.00 per piece and then press [+] to total the sale.
When asked for the amount tendered enter the amount in dollars you want to exchange and pick "Pounds" as the "Change currency." The POS program will then tell you how much change in pounds to give for the tendered amount of dollars.
Actually it is more flexible than that. You can accept money in any currency that you have set up and payout in any other currency that is set up.
Although how you are going to make any money giving out exact change is a mystery to me.
Although if you are going to have a "service fee" you can then ring up the service fee (2.00 Pounds?) instead of a sale of 0.00 and then when you enter the amount tendered in dollars the 2 Pounds will be subtracted from the change.

Hi Gary,
You don't say where you are but just to warn you that if you're in the UK you'll need to register as a Buro de Change to stop money laundering. I've no idea how but it's one of those things that we got taught at uni! If you already are then that's ok :-) Or if you're not in the UK then I've no idea what you're local laws are :-D
