having a problem with APRINT and printing receipts

Post by LBshop » Mon Oct 10, 2005 11:36 pm

I posted a couple weeks ago about having a problem with receipts not printing when I had the "ask before printing receipt" option turned ON. Dale was looking into it and then I got it to working on my computer at home.

The next day when I was playing around with DHPOS again I started having the same problem. I had been putting DHPOS into full screen but hadn't done so at this particular time. I noticed that after I typed in the tender amount and the options to print or not came up...APRINT had already shown "print done". so when I selected "print receipt" nothign happened. I figured out that I could "make" it work by after I had entered the tender amount.....hitting enter twice very fast....this only works of course if "print receipt" is selected as I found that if you select "dont' print" in one transaction, that option is highlighted in the next transaction.

Anyway, I chalked this up to some quickyness with my computer, or maybe Windows XP So, last week I tried DHPOS out in a real life situation, running it on a different computer (that runs a earlier version of windows). Same problem occurred.

The thing is for my particular set up.....I only want to print receipts if someone is using a credit card. I've gotten pretty good at making it print when I want it to...even though I did "miss" once and had to reprint from the void menu.

However, knowing the people that I will have using DHPOS the most, this could be quite a problem. Any ideas on what could be causing this. Thanks

Right now I'm just using a regular desktop page printer. I really only use it to print sales reports, etc. as printing a receipt for customers isn't really important at this point. But, we are looking into receipt printers and possibly barcode printers and scanners if the budget ever allows

anyway I've had this problem on two different computers with two different printers.

at home a HP psc 1210v printer

at work a Lexmark...can't remember the number right now.
