CPU load

Post by Granita » Tue Jul 11, 2006 10:46 am

Using DHPOS 6.39 on Windows XP home on several different machines. If I am not running DHPOS full screen (Alt + Enter) then the CPU is always running at 100% load (per the task manager.)

The problem is when we need to do some other tasks that require some power (like a large spreadsheet in Excel) the computer slows down to a crawl. Have been closing out DHPOS to get around this, but if a customer comes in during this there is a bit of a scramble to close things up and get back to running register.

Is what I am expericiencing normal? (It happens on my 3 totally different computers ... but I could not find any other posting on this subject,)

Is there any way around this?

If not, does Windows 98SE have the same issue? Might Windows 98SE be a better match to run with DHPOS?

Granita,

Seems like a previous forum discussion might hold the answer for you.

Try right-clicking the POS.exe file and under properties select the Misc tab.

Set the idle sensitivity to High, apply and see what happens.

That seemed to do the trick. Thanks!
