Payroll-SB (DHPOS Payroll) - new version progress...
Moderators:daleadmin, Dale Harris, Alan, Andrew
There is currently no new version of Payroll, that is a timer to remind you that it is only a beta testing version and a new one was assumed to be ready by now, which it isn't.
As there have not really been any further developments in this project to date, I won't be uploading a newer copy at this stage. I may however consider uploading another copy of that version which extends the date.

nope - it's hard coded into the program, you can just set your computer date backwards but I will not be held responsible for any adverse effects.
This early release was to test very basic features and there isn't much to it. If you are very eager to open it - try my date suggestion, but at this stage I'm not too keen on having to re-upload a new copy with a new date, as there isn't any real progress atm in this project.

Payroll development back in progress...
OK, peeps it's time to breathe new life into Payroll.
It is now re-incarnated as "Payroll-SB". SB standing for small business. I have recently begun a major overhaul, practically starting from scratch from the demo most of you have played in - and am re-writing it to use Microsoft Access databases and Jet technology for data storage instead of plain files.
The benefits?
- it is easier for me to create reports based on date selection etc, due to the inbuilt formatting features of the database format
- record access will be faster and allow a lot more data to be stored
- you will be able to store almost as many employees as you like and assign an almost infinite (access has a cap of about 12,000 total records where it gets flakey) number of pay, deduction and holiday rates
- when future changes are made, the structure of data will be easier to upgrade
Now for you guys...
This is a simple Payroll app, it isn't designed to calculate taxes for the staff of NASA, ok?
However it will allow you to calculate in as many ways as I can think up, deductions etc... However your input is needed, I am not a payroll nor math expert - however I did help out in Payroll at a small business once for a few months and got a bit of experience doing so.
Please note - not all suggestions may make it first time round, or ever depending on the sheer complexity of some Payroll systems, I live and breath the keeping it simple principle. If I feel your suggestion is so way above my capabilities - it will be stored until I might be able to do something about it.
Thanks in advance for the feedback...
