ToPS,
Bad news. The [F4] feature is designed to run a separate program (that you provide) that when the program quits it does not execute the END command, which just terminates the program, but executes a RUN "POS.EXE" command which will restart the POS.EXE program. LOOKUP.EXE just ENDs

When you press [F4] from the main menu of the POS.EXE program the program will look for a file named NEXTFILE.DAT which is supposed to contain the name of another program file (one that YOU set.) The other program will run and when it is finished if it calls the POS.EXE program you will be returned ...

Voids
Well the easiest way for someone to give away an item is not to ring it up and then void out the line but just to not ring up the item in the first place. A password on an line item void will not stop that. And anyway people make mistakes and have to be able to correct them without having a supervis...

Huh
Bkc, I have looked at the sample files and they are far from simple. The only way I would be able to have the DHPOS program correctly make these files is if I had a copy of QuickBooks and learned how to use it. Unfortunalty I have a extreem lack of both cash and time to do this. But I will put it in...

Export to Quickbooks
Bkc,
Might be possible, do you know the format that QuickBooks needs the inventory in to be able to read it? Can QuickBooks read an inventory from a Excel spreadsheet. It is possible to export the inventory to Excel.

Because a printer is a device. If your printer is not functioning, or your computer is not able to access the printer, then it is a device error.

rmardell, You said that you tried out the printer with other software but you did not say if it worked. If it did not work with other software then the problem may be with the printer. You said that your neighbor has the same equipment. take your printer over there and swap them. Will your printer w...

Print stream
Andrew, Actually not. WLSDFKJN.DRY contains only the print stream that would normally go to the printer. There are no codes in it that are used by APRINT2.EXE although there are codes that are used by the printer. So any process that would dump the WLSDFKJN.DRY file to the printer will print the rec...

"Z" reading
brucef2112, The "Z" reading is kept in a file located somewhere on your computer. The only way that it can be reset is if the file is erasesd. This means that at some point Windows 2000 decided to write over the location of this file for some unknown reason, however "stupiditiy" comes to mind. When ...
