I think you must have mis-understood. :? OK I getcha now. But still can't do it with all the common types of drawers as far as I know. Once the solenoid has popped to release the latch it reverts to a passive state so you can't use that as some kind of detector. My guess is you'd need a drawer with...

:? If you're this worried about crime in your store why stay open late at all. Just shut the dang thing. If you don't want to accept large bills you can't be selling much of any value anyway. I bet they're not lining up down the street at that time of day all clutching very large handfulls of small ...

Cash Drawers

The cash drawers that are activated through a printer RJ11 port can't do that kind of thing. How they work is that DHPOS sends a pulse to the printer which is a signal for it to send a small current via the RJ11 connection to the drawer. This in turn activates a solenoid in the drawer which opens a ...

Re: Nope.

Rollerball, The program does not keep track of when any stock item was sold. Dale, been thinking about this one. There is some kind of date link eg Run sales history report for last 6 months, save as a data file, open data file in Excel and search for certain Product Code in column 1. Comes up blan...

Cheers Dale.

My initial tests look fine. I'll also run it with tax not included and with no tax just to make sure it's all OK.

Done it and it looks OK every which way ;)

Small error in receipt print of 6.39b

Dale, there's an error in the receipt print of version 6.39b. Say I am selling an item at 1.45 including tax (VAT) at 17.5%. When the item is printed, tax is being ADDED to the price although the tax sub total and the receipt total are still correct. example: {Item Stock #}{Item Name} V1 1 at 1.70 e...

Dale, I'm DHPOS's Mr McAwber - ever the optimist always hoping something will turn up ;) :D Hey that's now up to 5 1/2 (1/2 for the person who didn't mind either way) Thanks to everyone who's registered their vote and looking forward to seeing a few more being added to the total. Don't leave it too ...

Little itsy bitsy error

Dale, in the new posconfg.exe, although you can park up to 255 sales, the preamble in the panel above still says 0-75 :?

Personally I doubt anyone will notice until the nest update comes out - you know, the one that calculates real costs for you!

Glad to see we've got an interesting discussion starting here. From my experience, DHPOS is used predominantly by what we in the UK call SMEs (small and medium size enterprises). Have to say that this idea of 'input clerk trust' just doesn't arise over here. People do the job they are paid to do or ...

Poll - DHPOS To Automatically Calculate Real Product Costs

A little while back I started a thread called Item Cost In Real Time. It is basically about getting DHPOS to work like a proper stock control system should and update stock file costs automatically whenever new stock items are added to it. That way the figures are always correct so, for example, if ...

Heyyyyy..... that reminds me. Don't forget my little Paypal donation a little while back that wasn't for anything in particualr (obviously now have to fall back on blackmail to get this) Aw heck just remembered - it was for a new ink cartridge after you said you'd used about 10 printing off the BIG ...

Sorry Dale, I don't follow. I precisely didn't say cost and price are on autopilot. I said price is a management decision (ie not a receiving clerk one) that is based (mainly) on cost. But cost is a given - whether someone types it in correctly or not (ie it's decided by your supplier, not you). But...

Doesn't come into it - sure, selling prices are decided by management but cost is a given. This is all about giving you a bit more of a handle on your inventory. If it could be done all your costs in your stock file would be real costs so you'd always know exactly where you are and could make much b...
