You have over a thousand fonts? ... that's not healthy for your PC.

testing aprint

Post by jake69 » Sat Nov 26, 2005 5:29 am

Hi,

I was testing the aprint beta version ... doesn´t work onmy system. When producing an receipt, even before pressing "print receipt" it starts anouncing error 70... and repeating the same error message until I press a key, then it says error 56.

any news on the aprint development?

See you around,

Jake

As for the pole thing... well I was thinking the same thing. Once I get the main aprint stuff working nicely I may add the pole program into it.
Drawer Sends A Code

***EDITED BY USER FOR MORE INFORMATION***

Ok i will be specfic this time i have a nice coke so i will take my time.

1. the "kick" drawer code is sent to the the drawer
2.the drawer sends a code back to the printer which can be found in the "printer ready code" usually 6 digits (varys by manufacture)
3.when the sensor in the drawer senses the drawer is closed the string of code is no longer sent to the PC

Easy Enough? (at least is seems to be by my standards)

I think Jon is looking for more technical information that "drawer sends a code"... if only it were that simple.

I have another beta ready to roll, fixing most of the issues in the last one. The only thing I haven't found a solution for yet is the bug where on some systems it doesn't print the first reciept...

As for the cash drawer thing... the problem is not that the code is not there, it's that reading it breaks the print model. Not to mention, aprint really doesn't care if the drawer is open since it doesn't have any way of telling POS if the drawer is open. This should, if needed, be read directly from the printer port by POS (and all reciept printers should likely support such reads).

jake, your sure it's error 56? that windows error code is completely undocumented... 50 range errors though, are file errors.

Please check this so I can fix.

Error message

Post by jake69 » Wed Dec 14, 2005 5:50 pm

Hi,

Sorry for the late reply, and sorry for my mistake.

So here is the story:

When I try to print the receipt I get a long row (repeated every second or so) with messages like this:

Found file, printing document now 23:44:40
Error detected! 70

After pressing any key the messages above stop and following message occurs:

Found file, printing document now 23:44:43
Error detected! 53

Sorry again about the wrong error code (was late here in Europe when I tried to run the program :-)

Take care,

Jake

70 = permission denied
53 = file not found

Sounds as though APRINT wasn't allowed to access the file yet - and then it got deleted, raising the 53 error.

bug aprint - POS

Post by jake69 » Fri Jan 13, 2006 11:55 am

Hi,

I found the reason why I get above mentioned errors.... The reason is that I enabled 2 things in my POSconfig:

* Print 2 receipts per transaction and
* ask before printing sales receipt

I do this in order to be able to deceide per case if I want to priint only 1 receipt or 2... but I print at least 1 formy book keeping

It looks like POS creates the .dry file for aprint BEFORE asking if to print the receipt, but keeps it open until I deceide. But aprint sees the file and tries to print it, but can´t open it..... now there is the question: why can the old aprint work with my settings????

Best regards,

Jakobus
