Area: Stock Table, save stock table to A:floppy disk. Selecting save as
TXT works ok, but selecting #6 save as DATA does not work and always
shows as .TXT and does not record to floppy disk. I send this to a spread
sheet and take a physical inventory for year end.
Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug?
I have been using your pos program several years now and have been
very satisified with it. Thanks SKYBIRDS R/C

Stock table exporting
SKYBIRDS R/C,
I have tried it here and had no problem. Are you sure that there is enough free space on the disk to hold the file.
The files are always .TXT because they are saved as a text file, although a text file that can be read by a spreadsheet or database program.

Possible bug in V4.27
Hi Dale,
I did not mention before that I use the POS program in DOS mode,
not windows. I still cannot copy the stock table to the floppy disk. It
does seem to want to copy all of the pos and runs out of disk space, so
nothing is copied.
I did find a way around the problem by saving it to C: then copying
it from C: to the floppy disk.
Sorry it took so long to reply, I had computer problems getting
onto the internet.
Thanks, Skybirds R/C

Where are you?
Skybirds,
Where are you in the program? You say that you press #6 to save as data. However when I export the stock table I have to press [F3] to select to save as data and then [F5] to begin the save.
To get where I am, from the stock table...
Press [F5] to manipulate / export lines.
Select option [1] to continue.
Press [6] to Export to printer / database / spreadsheet.
Select option [1] for All lines with a non-zero stock number.
Is this the screen where you are having the problem?
I re-booted my computer to DOS mode and then used the program to save the whole database to the A: drive. No problem. I then re-booted to Windows and then started Excel and then loaded the .TXT file from the A: drive. Again, no problem. The .TXT file is over 700k so it will fill about half of a 1.44M floppy disk so I would make sure that the floppy disk you are going to save to is empty.
