Kitchen Printer or Display

Just wonder whether it is possible to setup DHPOS with an additional display or printer so the kitchen can know what to prepare?
Look into the REMOTE.EXE application which comes with DHPOS. You can enter the file paths of your various POS installations and it will show their pole displays on-screen.
However this is not purposely designed for kitchen use as it refreshes whatever is being outputted to the pole display data file (even if you don't have a pole display).

You won't need to be using DHPOS' network setup unless you have more than one register. You can just map a network drive to the folder in which DHPOS is running, and enter that drive letter into REMOTE.EXE
It just shows you whatever is being outputted to the pole display data file, so it auto-scrolls and I don't believe you can scroll back.
Perhaps someone has some programming knowledge they could write something, Dale provides information on some of the non-confidential file formats here http://keyhut.com/fformat.htm#pole (links to pole display data).

Thank you Andrew for the quick reply.
So Computer A share the folder where DHPOS is located, and Computer B accesses the Remote.exe in the share folder of Computer A, is it how it is? There is no need to have another DHPOS folder in Computer B?
Sounds simpler than actually setting up the DHPOS network.

Nope
psung,
The REMOTE.EXE program picks up the output from the POS program that goes to the pole display. So to omit the total, amount tendered, change, etc from the REMOTE display would also mean that it would have to be omitted from the pole display.
In addition the actual purpose of the REMOTE program is to allow the manager to monitor what is happening on the registers from his office, and he would want to know what the total, amount tendered, change, etc amounts are.

Hi Dale
I understand the purpose of Remote.exe now, I just wonder whether it is possible to modify the Remote.exe to show only the items sold.
The original layout is brillant, it looks like some of the fastfood chain kitchen monitor.
Just hope that maybe this can be a new feature in DHPOS' future version.
Thanks again.
